All Chiropractic deals with the problems caused by imbalances in the bony structures of the body. Misalignment in the spine, pelvis or other joints can cause interference with nerve supply, leading to pain or changes in sensation. Poor nerve supply can limit optimum health. All Chiropractors must be registered with the regulatory body, the GCC, and undertake a 5 year course of study which includes development of palpation and manipulation skills, rehabilitation techniques, the evaluation of the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the detection of the underlying diseases. Chiropractors work closely with other health professionals and are Primary Care Practitioners. McTimoney Chiropractic aims to bring the whole skeletal structure into alignment using fast and relatively light adjustments. These are precise, very quick movements during which the client normally experiences little or no discomfort. Time is needed for the body to adjust, and a series of treatments is usually recommended. Conditions commonly treated with this chiropractic method are back, neck and shoulder pains, repetitive strain injuries, whiplash, sciatica, migraines, tension headaches, arthritis, menstrual problems, and sports injuries. However, many other problems may have their roots in the subtle structural imbalances which McTimoney Chiropractic can correct. McTimoney Chiropractic is suitable for babies and the very frail. Bowen Therapies (Neurostructural Integration Technique, NST) The Neurostructural Integration Technique is a leading technique in structural and spinal therapy for lasting pain relief and rejuvenation. It is a bodywork technique using soft tissue manipulation that initiates a process of autoregulation to occur in the spinal column and consequently, throughout the whole body. It has the potential to rapidly reduce symptoms, increase energy and a sense of well-being. NST can be used for an extensive range of conditions, for babies, the elderly and any age group in between.
