About Herbal MedicineGo back to The Practitioners

Herbal medicine is one of the oldest medicines known to man and is still one of the most widely used forms of medicine today. New research continues to add to existing knowledge on the power of plants as effective aids to healing.

Herbalists differ from pharmaceutical companies because they believe that using the natural whole plant, with its many hundreds of ingredients, is superior to the synthesised versions that often rely on one or a few of the active chemicals contained in a plant.

The Herbalist’s belief is that treating symptoms is not the best approach to wellbeing, and their aim is to address the underlying cause.

Herbal medicine is used with good effect in many conditions including: skin complaints, irritable bowel syndrome, high blood pressure, coughs, colds, premenstrual and menopausal conditions.

Its gentle approach means herbal medicine can benefit people of all ages.
